2022 Profound Arts Festival Music Competition

Participant should select one piece of the below for the preliminary assessment and another piece for the final assessment according to the ABRSM Grades and classes as reference of participation.

Group Grade Repertoire
Group A, 6-11 Years

(Primary)

 Elementary

(ABRSM Grade 1, 2, 3)

 A preliminary assessment piece and final piece of not more than 3 minutes from the below:

–    A movement or piece of Baroque Era

–    A movement or complete Sonata (3-5 minutes)

–    An Etude

–    A movement or piece of Classic Era

–    A movement or piece of Romantic Era

–    A movement or piece of Modern Era

–    A piece of Nursery Rhyme, Children Songs or Folk Songs at appropriate level for Vocal Solo (If a Chinese repertoire selected, please prepare an English introduction of the repertoire in not more than 300 words for submission at the application)
Intermediate

(ABRSM Grade 4, 5, 6)

 A preliminary assessment piece and final piece of not more than 5 minutes from the below:

–    A movement or piece of Baroque Era

–    A movement or complete Sonata

–    An Etude

–    A movement or piece of Classic Era

–    A movement or piece of Romantic Era

–    A movement or piece of Modern Era

–    A piece of song or aria from above for Vocal Solo

–    A movement or piece from the above for Ensemble
Advanced

(ABRSM Grade 7 and 8)

 A preliminary assessment piece and final piece of not more than 8 minutes from the below:

–    A movement or piece of Baroque Era

–    A movement or complete Sonata

–    An Etude

–    A movement or piece of Classic Era

–    A movement or piece of Romantic Era

–    A movement or piece of Modern Era

–    A piece of song or aria from above for Vocal Solo/Duet

–    A movement or piece from the above for Ensemble
Group B,

12-18 Years

(Secondary)

 Elementary

(ABRSM Grade 1, 2, 3)

 A preliminary assessment piece and final piece of not more than 3 minutes from the below:

–    A movement or piece of Baroque Era

–    A movement or complete Sonata (3-5 minutes)

Group C,

3-5 years (Kindergarten)

 Kindergarten

(Singing, Instruments, 3, 4 and 5 years)

  A piece of Nursery Rhyme or Children Songs at appropriate level for Vocal Solo or Instrument Solo (If a Chinese repertoire selected, please prepare an English introduction of the repertoire in not more than 300 words for submission at the application)
