2022 Profound Arts Festival Music Competition

1. The applicant/participant who is a minor must obtain the understanding and agreement of his/her parents/guardian in his/her application/participation of the competition under this Rules and Regulations. The applicant/participant herein refers to the applicant/participant and his/her parents/guardian for a minor applicant/participant.

2. Participant is required to submit a performance video of competition by uploading to the competition system (the Website) and a second performance video upon notification for the top 10 candidate assessment and final winners selection.

3. Only performance-unedited video can be accepted for the assessment. Any performance-edited video submitted and the respective participant shall be dis-qualified. The application fee of such participant shall not be refunded.

4. Recordings should be a fair and decorous representation of the participant’s abilities, but need not be of a professional quality.

5. Video recording requirements

5.1 The recording shall be a single, performance-unedited recording of performance of the applicants/participants. In all cases, total performance time of all recordings submitted must be within the allowed time from a fixed angle camera, showing the face, hands and feet/pedals of the participant at all times.

5.2 Video made within 3 months before or after the application in MP4 format (1920 × 1080 pixels recommended) not exceeding 500MB in size shall be accepted for competition submission. Over-sized performance-unedited video record file with compression only by a video file size compression software like HandBrake, etc. shall be accepted.

5.3 Video recording already submitted for any other competition use will not be accepted. Any such video submitted and the respective participant shall be dis-qualified. The application fee of such participant shall not be returned. The participant shall be fully responsible for any claim of copyright of such video by third party made against the Organizer for all losses, legal expenses and damages etc.

5.4 Participant is solely responsible for the quality, suitability, submission, usability and uploading of the submitted video. Organizer shall bear no responsibility or liability in these aspects. Any non-functioning video submitted to and/or operated at the competition system shall not be accepted and counted. The application fee of such participant shall not be returned.

6. Participants must perform from memory except for Group C and ensemble.

7. Only original pieces will be accepted.

8. The participant should be decently dressed and perform in an appropriate manner.

9. If applying for more than one class of competition, applicant must complete application of each class of competition, pay the required fee for each individual class of competition and submit the video for competition for each class applied for participation.

10. The top 10-20 participants of each class of competition will be informed of the final assessment video upload within deadline.

11. The final selection of winners will be based solely on the video recordings submitted and assessed.

12. Jury comments will not be openly disclosed. No jury comment shall be provided to candidates with average score of 80 or below. Jury’s decisions are final and appeal of result shall not be accepted.

13. The Organizer owns and reserves the sole rights to make any changes in the rules and regulations, venue, date schedules, arrangements and other information related to the Competition or published on the competition website.

14. The Organizer has and reserves the sole right to record and document the competition and related events and/or activity. The Organizer also has the right to release any recordings (such as DVDs, CDs, video clips etc.) for publicity or commercial purposes without any prior approval from the participants or making compensation of any kind to them. The participants agree that all copyrights of these recordings belong to the Organizer by his/her application and/or participation.

15. Participant understands and agrees that Organizer has full right to use all the submitted and/or recorded material including photos, recordings, videos or any uploaded information in situation required where the participant agrees to grant all such right to the Organizer in irrevocable, unconditional, without limitation and non-compensatory manner by his/her application and/or participation.

16. Unauthorized photography, interview, audio and/or video recordings etc. of any onsite concert or activity are strictly prohibited.

17. The Organizer has and reserves the right to cancel or change any class of competition arrangement should the total participants of the class be less than 100, and to cancel or reschedule the competition and/or its event or activity in the case of a natural emergency or any situation required. The application fee of such class of competition shall be refunded or deferred to the re-arranged competition arrangement.

18. The competition arrangement/selection of performers, arrangement and order of performances of any onsite concert or activity will be solely determined by the Organizer. Appeal of such arrangement shall not be accepted. The application fee shall be refunded or deferred to the changed competition arrangement.

19. The applicant/participant understands and agrees to this Rules and Regulations by his/her application/participation of the competition.
